Checking in with a new card!

Hello everyone!

I'm checking in here mid-summer to see how everyone's doing!  I miss you all here in blog-land.....but life was getting way too hectic with some family issues and I needed to take a break.  My kids needed me.  We are doing MUCH better now and life is good.  :)

Today was the first day in MONTHS that I have been in my craft room, but that hasn't stopped me from SHOPPING for craft supplies!  I have bought lots of great stuff, and in a few weeks in my town is an annual rubber stamp convention called Stampaway.  I am going and am super excited to buy some new goodies.

But today I have a simple card made using the new Zig Clean Color Brushes (well, they're new to me!  LOL).  They are super easy to use and makes for some great watercolor effects.  I used watercolor paper for the bird (which is a stamp from Hobby Lobby), then simply mounted with some foam tape on the blue.

Here is a close up of the bird:

This is  a thank you card, and THANK YOU to everyone who pays me a visit on my blog.

I hope to be posting more, especially when the kids go back to school, but keep in mind I am working full time now (a big change for us, too), so I may only post every other week, or every week, I'm hoping!

Take care and hope everyone is having a great summer!  :)

TAKING A BLOG BREAK

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to let you all know that due to family issues, I am taking a blog break for the summer.

I appreciate everyone's visits and kind comments on my work since I launched my blog last fall.

I have 2 teenagers and an ADD 8 year old, so needless to say they keep me very busy and they need my attention more than my blog at this time.

I hope to be back in the fall!  I. The meantime, say a prayer for us, ok?  It's much appreciated!  :)

Hugs to all of you!  :)

Craft Gals Corner Challenge # 19: May Flowers

This week over at

This week the challenge is

May Flowers!

Quite simply, we are to use flowers on our project.

I am using this ADORABLE flower bouquet dig stamp and some leftover papers from a previous kit I had from Stamps of Life.  I'm finding I get a lot of use out of these kits!

Anyway, of course, I colored the flowers with my Copics (don't I always??  LOL), and cut out the image using one of my Sizzix dies.  I also cut a mat out of the next larger die.  I added some Wink of Stella to the petals and some glossy accents to the middle of the flowers.

The rest was using scraps from the kit.  Easy!

I also did this card using the Gracielle designs digi papers and a stamp set from Stampin up.  It didn't photograph real well, the colors match better in real life.  :)

Happy Bark-day Card

Hello!

Today's card is a challenge from a blogging group I am in.  When I first started my blog, I went over to

to get the word out about my blog.  If you've never been there, it's a huge site full of inspiration and helpful tips on stamping, card making, or just about anything!

So I found this blogging group who were accepting new members, so I joined

You can visit all the gals in my group by clicking on the links in my sidebar  ------>>>>>

One of the gals, Cindy (of  Designing Duos), wanted to do a challenge of making a birthday card, so I was like, ok!  :)  I always need birthday cards.

So here's my card!  :)

The stamp and sentiment is from a Paper Smooches set, and I colored my doggie with my Copics.

The rest of the card is pretty simple.....I used a scrap of brown and the green scallop edge is using a scalloped edge die from Taylored Expressions.

I finished off with some sequins.

Hope you like it and I hope we have another challenge next month....this one was fun!  :)

have a great day!  :)

Rainbow challenge

Hello!

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful spring weather!  I actually cut the grass today, something I LOVE doing!  Felt great to get outside.

I did make some time to create, too, and this card is for a challenge over at

LiveLoveCards is the website of one of my favorite card makers, Darlene DeVries.  I became a fan of hers through her YouTube channel, and a few months ago she introduced her new website.  I love her 2-3 times a week postings of FABULOUS cards!

So the challenge for April is to have a rainbow theme in a card.

Challenge accepted!  :)

I recently got all the new dye inks from Ranger, and these colors are TO DIE FOR.  Great basic colors for stamping.  So I pulled out all the rainbow colors and used them on a My Favorite Things diagonal background stamp.  Took several tries and this was the best one!  LOL

The stamp itself is from Stampendous and I stamped it on my rainbow backround, then stamped it again on another paper, cut out the flowers, and pop dotted them to the other flower.  I also added a dot of enamel accents to the center of the flowers.

Thank you so much for visiting and commenting. I do appreciate ALL visits!!  I'll do my best to pay you a visit back.  :)

Have a great night!  :)

I am very honored to also be on the Faery Ink design team, so I was thrilled to use more of Amanda's images!  I used this pretty Faery Margaret on this card for spring!

Can you tell I am super excited for Spring to be here??  We love to be outside!

So I colored this pretty girl with my Copics, then mounted her with pop dots on 2 rectangles I die cut with my stitched rectangle dies.

The sentiment is made from a Stampin Up word set.

Faery Ink April Inspiration

Hello!

Today I have with my Inspiration post for April here at Faery Ink, using this adorable

Flora Sunflower digi stamp:

I colored Flora with my Copic markers (of course!), then adhered her to the background with foam dots. I added some shimmer to the sunflower with my wink of stella pen.

For the background, I had a scrap of embossed dotted paper that worked great with my color scheme, and a scrap of khaki with black flowers.  I embossed a 'best wishes' sentiment using white embossing powder.

The orientation on this card is a 'landscape', instead of a traditional card.  On the inside you could make a pocket and put a gift card in it, for example!  :)

I had a lot of fun with this card and I hope you like it! :)

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,

Kathryn

Easter Cards

Hello!

It's been a while since I've gotten to create anything for non DT assignments....and March was SUPER busy for us....I can't believe it's April, but bring on spring!!  :)

With Easter being this Sunday, I always get my kids a little something.  I don't really do traditional Easter Baskets anymore, but I  do get them something.  The teenagers want gift cards, so that's usually what it is and some candy thrown in there too.  :)

So I made these Easter cards today from my March Stamps of Life kit.

It was Easter themed so it was perfect!  :)

I also used 2 Tim Holtz stamps, the bunny and the egg.  Both from the blueprints collection.

Yummy.

All 3 cards will have gift cards in them, too.  I used my gift card die so the cards will slide right in.

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments and visits!  I hope to have more cards done in April!  :)

Have a great day!  :)

Party Time Tuesdays Challenge #196

Hello!

Today I am posting this month's project for

where I am proud to be a 'Party Planner'!  :)

My card this month is a fun birthday card, using this cute ice cream blueprint stamp from Tim Holtz.

I used my Cricut to cut out the card itself, and loved the fun shape of this design.

Then, the fun part was making my 'ice cream'!  :)  I used some embossing paste and colored it with some distress ink.  I just love the texture it brings to the card. You definitely want to let this dry thoroughly before finishing the card.

The inside is just a simple Happy Birthday:

Please join us over at Party Time Tuesdays for your chance to win a great prize from this month's sponsor,

As always, thanks for visiting and be sure to follow me for future updates!  :)
