Stampin Up Sale-a-bration card and video

Hello!

Happy Saturday, everyone!  Hope life is treating everyone well and it's a nice day where you are!  It's sunny here, but cold!  only about 25.  When's spring??

So today I got some new goodies from my Stampin Up rep. I had used the last of my Christmas bonus at work to buy them, so I was so excited when she dropped them off today!!  I have a video here of everything I bought, plus a tip on getting the stamps to stick on the acrylic block once the stickers are on.  they never stick for me!!

I decided to use the 'Big Day' set (which was one of my freebies!) to make a quick birthday card this morning. I colored the cake and the word birthday with distress markers.  I scribbled the color onto an acrylic block, then picked up the color with a waterbrush and colored.  I probably should have used watercolor paper, but didn't think about it until I was already into it.

The patterned paper is also Stampin Up, it is double sided and I just love the patterns!!

Here's a close up of the cake. I used stickles on the candles, then covered the cake itself with glossy accents to make it shine.

I mounted the cake and the sentiment with foam tape and inked the edges in black. I really like how this card turned out!

As always, thanks for visiting and be sure to follow me to stay updated on all my newest creations! :)

Have a great day!!

Simon Says Stamp Challenge Cards

Hello!

Today's cards are for the Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday challenges.  I really like doing these challenges because it gets me to play with my stuff!  :)  I hadn't played in a few days so it felt good to create!

This card is for the

where we are to create something with clouds. I struggled with this card for about an hour, cutting butterflies from my Cricut, almost trashing the entire card and forgetting about the challenge.  Then I just grabbed an old piece of basic grey patterned paper and the so cool Memory Box butterfly die and it worked.  :)

Here's a close up of the butterfly.  I just LOVE this die:

This next card is for the

where we are to showcase Clearly Besotted and/or Lil Inker Designs products.  I used heart dies from Lil Inker Designs and a background stamp from Simon Says Stamp:

I also used silver pearl embossing powder and I LOVE the effect I got.  Then I colored the cardstock in red and the hearts were resisted. Very cool.

As always, thanks for visiting!  Be sure to follow for future cards!! :)

Muse Challenge #102

Hello!

Hope everyone on the East Coast is digging out from the snowstorm this week!  Glad it dodged us here in Ohio!  :)  I do wish it was a bit warmer, though....I'm sick of the 20's!  Bring on some 50's!!

Today's card is for the

and it's another beautiful card!  Here's the inspiration card:

Aren't those bears adorable?  I don't have any bear stamps, but I really like the design of this card, so I turned it into a Valentine-y card with some flowers.

The flowers and sentiment stickerare from the Target $1 spot, and the white sheet is embossed using an embossing folder.

I'll be posting my Simon Says Stamp challenge cards tomorrow so stay tuned for that!

Thanks for visiting today and be sure to follow me for all my latest cards!  :)

Watercolor background Butterfly die card

Hello!

Hope everyone is well and not buried under a mountain of snow!  We just got about an inch here in SW Ohio, but I know the east coast is about to get pounded, so stay safe my Eastern friends!  :)

Today I have a new card and video for you.  It's a pretty watercolor background and using a neat butterfly die from Simon Says Stamp.

I used some Tim Holtz distress watercolor paper (but I think any watercolor paper would do), and just added layers of color.

I just love this butterfly die and the sentiment I used was from Hero Arts.  I finished the card by adding a few sequins.

Here is the video to this card, hope you enjoy!

As always thanks for visiting and tell your crafty friends to visit too!  I want to get to 100 followers (I may even have a giveaway, hint, hint!) so please follow and subscribe to my YouTube channel!  :)

Stay warm!  :)

Challenge for Red Carpet Studio!

Hello!

I hope you will join us over at

for this week's challenge, we are to be inspired by this movie poster for 'the Book of Life ':

I just love the background on this poster, how it blends in to other colors, and I love the heart right there in the center.  Here's how I was inspired:

I used my distress inks for the background, using colors like Peeled Paint, Wild Honey, and Dried Marigold.  I also 'flicked' some water mixed with Perfect Pearls to create the splotches, and they have a shimmer to them, too!

My sun is a free digital image from Paper Smooches, and I colored him with my Copics and then used my Wink of Stella pen for some shimmer.

The sentiment is also from Paper Smooches and after printing it out, I inked the paper with the Wild Honey distress ink, then mounted it with foam adhesive on a scrap of yellow cardstock.

Stop over at

Have a great day!  :)

We were to be inspired by this photo:

Isn't this a great photo??  I just love the white and red.  Here's how I was inspired:

The background on the white cardstock is an embossing folder, then I colored one of the birds from a scrap of this piece an adhered with a pop dot.  The words are from my man Tim Holtz....LOVE THESE WORDS.  :swoon:

The finished card size is a 4x4, so a different size than your standard card.  I like how this turned out!

Valentine Cards

Hi, everyone!

Tonight I have some cards that I made for a swap I am in.  Do you all like swaps?  Should I get some started here?  Leave some feedback in the comments!  :)

I used to do a ton of them in Yahoo groups (remember them??).  I even had my own swap group called 'Scrappin for Swaps'.  This was back in the early 2000's, when my kids were toddlers and I had more time!  The older they get, the less time I have it seems!

So it felt good to do a swap again.  I was to make 6 Valentine themed cards, and I decided to make them all different.  I used a lot of my Target dollar bin stuff (you can see my YouTube video for that here). The dinosaur card is actually a kids valentine, so I slapped that on a card as well.  :)

Hope you like them and thanks for visiting! :)

Muse Challenge #100

Hello!

Today's card is for the Muse Challenge #100....and what a beautiful card to be inspired by!

Here's the card that inspired me.

And here's my take on this card:

I used one of my Sizzix dies to cut the 'window', and the stamps are Basic Grey.  The sentiment is from a Ranger set.  It's pretty simple, all embossing.  I used an Avery Elle pigment ink pad for the heart, then gold embossing powder for the inner heart, and clear embossing on black Versafine for the sentiment.

Here's the inside of the card:

Don't you just love that sentiment, Love rocks??  I do, too!  :)

That's all for today...have a good one!  :)

Simon Says Stamp Challenge cards

Hello!

Hope everyone is having a great week....it's almost Friday which means the weekend! And it's supposed to be almost 50 degrees here Saturday so you know we'll be outside soaking in some warmth!  :)

I like to do the challenges over at Simon Says Stamp, they have new ones every Monday and Wednesday.  I did them both yesterday, but am not just posting.

This project is for the Monday challenge, which is to create an inky background.  I decided to get out my stencils and inks and do an art journal page.  I really like how it turned out!  :)

I love the look of art journaling and definitely want to do more of it!  :)

This card is for the Wednesday challenge, which is to create a masculine card and showcasing Tim Holtz products.  Done and done!  Love Tim's stamps and I really like how this turned out, too!  The stamp and stencil are Tim Holtz and I used distress inks for the background and to color in the stamp.

Thanks for visiting and be sure to follow me for future updates!

Have a great day!  :)
