Gotta love SHOPPING!

Happy Monday!

Today I went shopping!  I just love shopping....especially for fun stamping supplies!  There's a great place about 30 minutes from my house called Marco's Paper.  It's in Centerville, Ohio, just south of Dayton.  I decided to make the trip up there this morning and get some fun stuff!  :)

Here's what I saw when I walked in....cue angels singing, please!  :)

I was in heaven!  Lots of carstocks, copics, Tim Holtz products, mixed media items for art jouraling....you name it this place probably has it!  The one thing I was looking for, however, was Peerless watercolors.  They didn't have those.  Will have to look online for those.

But here's what I ended up buying...too much!  LOL  But I just couldn't resist this snowman and dies...will definitely have fun playing with that!  I also got come liquid pearls in 3 colors, embossing paste, texture paste, a wink of stella shimmer pen, some black glitter embossing powder, 2 distress ink pads in great holiday colors (festive berries and gathered twigs) and some neenah solar white cardstock.
Can't wait to play!

I hope to have another card up this week so be on the lookout for that.  Also please tell your friends to stop by....I'm still real new and trying to get my name out there in the blogging world.  :)

Have a great day!  :)

Saturday night card making!

Good evening!  Hope your weekend is treating you well....we were in and out all day and now tonight my teenage daughter is at a bonfire, so I thought what better way to kill time waiting to pick her up than to make a card!  Fall weather is quickly approaching and I just love the color palette of fall. So tonight's card is fall themed.

I'm using some distress inks and an acorn stamp from one of Tim Holtz's mini blueprints sets.  I'm also using watercolor paper and will watercolor using the inks and a waterbrush.

I also stamped a harlequin background stamp from a.muse studio with versamark ink and clear embossed it.

Then I stamped 3 of the acorns on the piece of watercolor paper with MementoLuxe tuxedo black pigment ink.  This ink stays wet long enough to clear emboss over it so I'll be able to watercolor without smuding the black ink.
For my sentiment, I used an Autumn Leaves stamp I got a long time ago and also stamped with pigment ink and clear embossed.  Then I 'colored' the paper with distress ink.
And here is the finished card with the acorns.  Still a little rusty with some techniques, but it was fun to play around for a while with stamps and distress inks.  :)

Have a great rest of the weekend!  :)

My Creative space

Hello!

Today I thought I'd share my scrapbook area.  We finished our basement about 8 years ago, and my husband let me design my own scrapbook area.  :)  This is an overview of my area. I just love my cabinets and my countertop. :)

On my counter in the white drawers is where I keep all my embellishments, such as rhinestones, pearls, brads, metal embellishments.  In the blue drawers is all my twine, washi tape, and other misc. embellishments.  I also have the Pampered Chef spinning utensil holder for all my tools such as scissors, paint brushes, paper piercer, etc.
Moving on down the counter is my main workspace, with my Making Memories mats down to protect the surface.  In the red drawers are just more misc. embellishments that I can reach for if I need just a little something extra on a card.

These 2 bookshelves are from Sauder and they hold all my papers and cardstocks.  The smaller shelves in the middle are photo boxes with photos in them, each box is a year of photos.
Moving around to the opposite wall, the 3 drawers at the bottom hold my most used punched, my sizzix dies, and my Tim Holtz dies.  The container with the arc d'triomphe on it holds my American Crafts thickers, and the containers above that have my project life cards and smaller clear stamp sets.
This portable container holds my clear stamp sets.  I recently went with this system, I saw it on Jennifer McGuire's blog, and it's working great.  The clear envelopes are from Avery Elle
Finally my Cricut is on top of this drawer unit which hold my wooden stamp sets.  They are divided into categories like birthday, thank you, backgrounds, etc.

I hope you enjoyed this quick tour of my craft room, if there's something more specific you'd like to see, just leave me a comment and I'll get right on it!

Have a great day! :)

Sharing some older cards

Hello!  Tonight I wanted to share some of the older cards I have done.  I have been scrapbooking and card making for a long time (I started scrapooking in 2000!), so my cards sure have improved over the years.  :)  These are some of my favorite ones I've created.  I will definitely post new cards (and I'd love to try my hand at making videos of my card making process) as my blog develops.  :)

Thank you for visiting and have a great day!  :)

Class is in session!

Hello!  Today I wanted to share the online class I am taking at the moment. It's on
Online Card Classes
and it's all about Copic markers!  I am a big hoarder when it comes to scrapbook supplies so it was no surprise that when I learned about Copic markers, I had to start collecting them!  Most scrapbook ers and card makers have the Copic Sketch markets, but I decided to get the Copic Caio markers, mainly because I got them at a better price.

So now that I had them, I really wanted to learn to use them properly, so I signed up for the Copic class.  It's a great class so far so I urge you to sign up if you want a great class on Copics!

Back to the blog!

Hello out there!  I have decided to get back to keeping up a blog....I was pretty good about doing one about 9 years ago, then the kids started getting active with activities, and well, you know how it goes. Zero time for mom.   This time I was going to focus my blog on my favorite hobby and passion....scrapbooking and making cards. Here I will share my creations and maybe give some tips and tricks to the art of card making. I may even try my hand at making a video if I can figure out how to do that. :).

Here is a card I created last week using copic markers to color. I will add the colors I used later, but I like how this flower turned out.

This is a sample of what I'd like to share on my blog, and feel free to give me suggestions/feedback....I'd love to hear it!  :)
