Rainbow challenge

Hello!

Hope everyone is enjoying the beautiful spring weather!  I actually cut the grass today, something I LOVE doing!  Felt great to get outside.

I did make some time to create, too, and this card is for a challenge over at

LiveLoveCards is the website of one of my favorite card makers, Darlene DeVries.  I became a fan of hers through her YouTube channel, and a few months ago she introduced her new website.  I love her 2-3 times a week postings of FABULOUS cards!

So the challenge for April is to have a rainbow theme in a card.

Challenge accepted!  :)

I recently got all the new dye inks from Ranger, and these colors are TO DIE FOR.  Great basic colors for stamping.  So I pulled out all the rainbow colors and used them on a My Favorite Things diagonal background stamp.  Took several tries and this was the best one!  LOL

The stamp itself is from Stampendous and I stamped it on my rainbow backround, then stamped it again on another paper, cut out the flowers, and pop dotted them to the other flower.  I also added a dot of enamel accents to the center of the flowers.

Thank you so much for visiting and commenting. I do appreciate ALL visits!!  I'll do my best to pay you a visit back.  :)

Have a great night!  :)

Crafty Gals Corner Challenge #14 - Any Holiday

Hello!

This week over at

 the challenge is Any Holiday!

Our sponsors this week is:

Faery Ink
Prize: 3 Digital Images

I am very honored to also be on the Faery Ink design team, so I was thrilled to use more of Amanda's images!  I used this pretty Faery Margaret on this card for spring!

Can you tell I am super excited for Spring to be here??  We love to be outside!

So I colored this pretty girl with my Copics, then mounted her with pop dots on 2 rectangles I die cut with my stitched rectangle dies.

The sentiment is made from a Stampin Up word set.

Please visit us over at Crafty Gals Corner for this and future challenges!  :)

Thanks for visiting!  :)

Faery Ink April Inspiration

Hello!

Today I have with my Inspiration post for April here at Faery Ink, using this adorable

Flora Sunflower digi stamp:

I colored Flora with my Copic markers (of course!), then adhered her to the background with foam dots. I added some shimmer to the sunflower with my wink of stella pen.

For the background, I had a scrap of embossed dotted paper that worked great with my color scheme, and a scrap of khaki with black flowers.  I embossed a 'best wishes' sentiment using white embossing powder.

The orientation on this card is a 'landscape', instead of a traditional card.  On the inside you could make a pocket and put a gift card in it, for example!  :)

I had a lot of fun with this card and I hope you like it! :)

Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

Hugs,

Kathryn

Easter Cards

Hello!

It's been a while since I've gotten to create anything for non DT assignments....and March was SUPER busy for us....I can't believe it's April, but bring on spring!!  :)

With Easter being this Sunday, I always get my kids a little something.  I don't really do traditional Easter Baskets anymore, but I  do get them something.  The teenagers want gift cards, so that's usually what it is and some candy thrown in there too.  :)

So I made these Easter cards today from my March Stamps of Life kit.

It was Easter themed so it was perfect!  :)

I also used 2 Tim Holtz stamps, the bunny and the egg.  Both from the blueprints collection.

Yummy.

All 3 cards will have gift cards in them, too.  I used my gift card die so the cards will slide right in.

Thanks to everyone for your kind comments and visits!  I hope to have more cards done in April!  :)

Have a great day!  :)

Party Time Tuesdays Challenge #196

Hello!

Today I am posting this month's project for

where I am proud to be a 'Party Planner'!  :)

My card this month is a fun birthday card, using this cute ice cream blueprint stamp from Tim Holtz.

I used my Cricut to cut out the card itself, and loved the fun shape of this design.

Then, the fun part was making my 'ice cream'!  :)  I used some embossing paste and colored it with some distress ink.  I just love the texture it brings to the card. You definitely want to let this dry thoroughly before finishing the card.

The inside is just a simple Happy Birthday:

Simon Says Stamp Challenges

Hello!

Today's cards are for the Simon Says Stamp Monday and Wednesday challenges.  I really like doing these challenges because it gets me to play with my stuff!  :)  I hadn't played in a few days so it felt good to create!

This card is for the

where we are to be inspired by a happy place.  I am inspired by MY happy place, my craft room. I also decided to play around and make a tag instead of a card.  I played with some ink sprays, stamps, ribbons,  and some shimmer.  Love.

This next card is for the

where we are to showcase Simon Says Stamp products and to use texture.  I thought this cute invitation made from 2 die cuts and using a Simon stamp set was cute, and the bakers twine adds some texture.  I also added some shimmer to the balloons.  The inside is clear embossed to add more texture.

As always, thanks for visiting!  Be sure to follow for future cards!! :)

Handmade Centerpieces for Cub Scouts

Hello!  :)

First off, before I share today's post.....

don't forget about my GIVEAWAY that I am having, you can see that post

I am trying to get to 100 followers, so please spread the word and tell your crafty friends about my blog!  :)

Ok, now on to today's project.  :)

If you are familiar with the Cub Scouts, you know that once a year is the Blue and Gold banquet, where awards are given that the boys have earned.  I am on the planning committee for the scouts, and I volunteered to make centerpieces for the banquet.  After looking on Pinterest for inspiration, I came up with this mason jar idea.  Luckily, Michael's had mason jars on sale for .99!  I made 8 centerpieces and I love how they turned out.  :)

They were pretty easy to complete, the most time consuming part was doing the rosettes.  I have the Tim Holtz rosette die and they really didn't take that long.  Maybe an  hour to make 24?  I watched TV while I did it.  :)

The large fleur de lis on the jar was from another Tim Holtz die.  I shredded kraft cardstock for the inside of the jar and bought some cheap silk flowers to put inside the jar.

Here's a close up of one of the rosettes:

I think they will look great on our tables for the banquet!  :)
